LINK-UP is an innovative daytime program. It engages young adults who have finished high school in community integration and independent living activities. We meet at the Presbyterian Church of White Plains located in downtown White Plains. The program supports higher ability participants with autism with a 4:1 staff ratio. Participants learn about navigating their own world by being part of the community utilizing municipal services, public transportation, visiting exhibits and local cultural sites, going on tours, handling money and practicing pre-vocational skills. Additionally, the group participates in community service, volunteer work and intergenerational experiences with children and senior citizens. SPARC provides experiences that promote lifelong learning through instruction in life skills, guest instructors and educational programs that engage our participants’ mind, body and spirit. Bring lunch or money to buy lunch locally.
